Voilá Bring Rabbits, Luck, And A Little Magic To Columbus

When your friend sends you a song saying, “I think you’ll like this one,” they’re almost always correct and almost always an immediate favorite. That’s what happened to me a few months ago when my friend Merrick recommended me Glass Half Empty by Voilá. It spoke to the deep parts of my soul, and I latched on and didn’t let go. Fast forward a few months, and I start getting Instagram ads for their new album with a show in Columbus, Ohio. You bet I was going to be at that show just for the bragging rights alone.

Then we get to November 14th, 2025. I walk into The King of Clubs and am met with a floor full of multicolored rabbits…? It wasn’t long after until I was handed my own pair of light-up LED rabbit ears, and I was ecstatic. It’s not often that bands have interactive crowd merch, much less free ones that make for epic souvenirs.

With my incredibly fashionable headgear, I was ready to start the night right. Our alternative indie headliner, Voilá, brought along Not a Toy to open up the night. The band is a quartet of genre-bending creatives that know how to get a crowd going. I found myself loving the energy between the members as well as the wonderfully disgusting beats they dropped. Their song DOOMSDAY HOLIDAY had me rocking back and forth to the rhythm. Overall, their set was fun and lively, which made me want to dance.

After a little magic and about thirty minutes, Voilá was ready to take the stage. Getting the crowd hyped up with classics to make the duo appear on stage was a cute little introduction sequence. Immediately, I was enamored by guitarist Luke Eisner’s outfit. A black bedazzled jacket is the perfect stage outfit, and I take no criticism. Outside of outfits, the band really leaned into the magician thematics with candlelit candelabras for mic stands and lanterns for lights. The crowd, being the rabbits in the music venue, was a cute note to their thematics as well.

Throughout their set, they had lots of crowd interaction. From reaching out to hold fans’ hands to bringing a girl up on stage to pick a surprise song out of a hat. If you were a big Voilá fan, you were having an amazing night. And I found that even if you didn’t know all their songs, it was hard to find a single person in the crowd who wasn’t moving or nodding their head to the different songs.

Between their theatrics and their energetic performance, Voilá put on an incredible show for a sold-out venue, and I hope to see them appear again in Columbus soon.
