JOHNNYSWIM is a powerful duo, a husband and wife. Their music speaks to their love, connection, and the exploration of their lives. Their most recent tour closed with a stop at The Pinnacle in Nashville.
The night was opened up with a set from Shua. Full of jokes and laughter, sad songs and beautiful guitar. A singer songwriter hailing from California, Shua brought a refreshing but intimate set, taking us along for the story of his journey to the stage that night.
JOHNNYSWIM gave us a walk down memory lane, playing tracks from their hit albums Diamonds and Georgica Pond, as well as their new album, When The War Is Over. An open love letter to each other and their children. Messages from grandfathers passed down to sons, words of encouragement to one another. Cuando Sali de Cuba was one of my favorites of the night, along with Alchemy and Psilocybin. You can feel their love for eachother from the stage, and their connection is something to be admired. Amanda has such an incredible and powerful voice, Abner an intense passion and energy that ignites the stage.
With this show closing out their tour cycle, you can listen to the new album on any streaming service, and catch them in person for their JOHNNYSWIM Christmas tour.
